Privacy Policy

30kweb builds websites and web apps for businesses in Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.30kweb.com and while working with you, why, and what your rights are under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

• Contact form: your name, email, business type, WhatsApp number (optional) and your message.
• Project onboarding form: your name, business name, WhatsApp number and email; details about your business and what the website should do; design preferences; your logo file if you upload one; links to your social media; and, for Google Business Profile setup, your business address, service area and opening hours.
• Refer & Earn: your name, WhatsApp number and email, a password (stored scrambled, so we can’t read it), your referral activity, and the bank details you add for payouts.
• 20 Spots entries: your name, business name, WhatsApp number, email, city, what your business does, the link to your entry video (for ₦50k entries), your Instagram, TikTok and X handles and what you tell us about why you need a website, plus our checks and scores for your entry.
• Chatting with Dash (when it is switched on): your messages, so Dash can reply. We also keep an anonymous summary of each chat: your questions with phone numbers, emails, links, long numbers, street addresses and any names we can spot removed, the page you started on, what you asked about, and whether you tapped through to WhatsApp. It isn’t linked to your name, IP address or device.
• Messages, files and payment confirmations you send us on WhatsApp or by email.
• Technical data such as your IP address, browser and pages visited, recorded by our hosting provider to keep the site running and secure.

• To reply to you, prepare quotes, and build and support your website (to carry out our agreement with you).
• To run the Refer & Earn program and pay referral fees.
• To run promotions you enter, such as 20 Spots: checking entries, contacting shortlisted entrants and winners, and building winners’ websites.
• To verify identity or business registration before some projects, to prevent fraud (our legitimate interest, and your consent when you send documents).
• To keep our records for accounting and legal purposes (a legal obligation).
• To understand how people use our website and improve it, if analytics are switched on (your consent).
• To see which questions visitors ask Dash, so we can improve its answers and our website (our legitimate interest), using only the anonymous chat summaries.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with the services we use to run 30kweb, and only what each needs:

• Vercel: hosts our website and our clients’ websites.
• Supabase: stores onboarding submissions, referral accounts, uploaded logos, 20 Spots entries and the anonymous Dash chat summaries.
• Resend: sends our emails.
• Formspree: receives contact form messages.
• WhatsApp (Meta): carries our chats with you.
• Anthropic: generates Dash’s replies, when the Dash chat is switched on.
• Google, Meta and TikTok: measure visits and ads, only if we switch their analytics on.

Some of these companies store data outside Nigeria, for example in the United States or Europe. We choose providers that protect data to recognised standards.

We may also share information with the authorities where the law requires it, or to prevent fraud.

• Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser.
• A draft of the onboarding form is saved in your browser so you don’t lose your answers. It stays on your device until you submit or clear it.
• Dash keeps your chat in your browser until you close the tab, along with a random chat number that links the anonymous summary described above. We don’t keep your full chat on our servers.
• Logging in to the referral dashboard sets a cookie that keeps you signed in.
• If we switch on Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel, they set their own cookies to measure visits and ads.

Logo files you upload in the onboarding form are stored at a private, unlisted web address so we can use them on your website. Anyone who has that exact link could open the file, so please only upload files you are happy to appear on your website.

• Project and payment records: for as long as we work together, and up to 6 years after, for accounting and legal reasons.
• Contact form messages we don’t follow up on: up to 12 months.
• Anonymous Dash chat summaries: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
• 20 Spots entries: 6 months after the promotion closes, then deleted automatically, except winners’ details, which become client records.
• Referral accounts: until you ask us to close yours, and payout records for up to 6 years.
• Identity or registration documents sent for verification: only as long as needed to complete the check, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it for legal reasons.
• Stop using your information for a particular purpose, or withdraw consent you gave.
• Send your information to you or another provider in a usable format.

Email hello@30kweb.com or WhatsApp us to make a request. We may need to confirm who you are first. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

We use secure connections (HTTPS), restrict who can see stored data, and keep passwords scrambled. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send us passwords for your other accounts or card details.

When we build a website for a client, the information that site collects from its own visitors (for example enquiries, bookings or orders) belongs to that client, who decides how it is used. We handle it only to build and run the site on their behalf. Questions about it should go to the business that runs the site.

Our services are for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
